When do i need a serial key??

Hi .
I started rFactor last week.
I downloaded rFactor setup file at official rFactor site's download page.
And it runs well, and I'm very satisfied with that.
But what makes me uncomfortable is that i didn't serial key page until now.
When do i need serial keys in rFactor? Is this game free?

You need a product key when you're done with the demo. It isn't free.
