Stable fps for rfactor 1

MotorsportBoy97

Hi guys, im in a league on rf1 (ISAMCARracingleague) and whenever there are so many people or just every now and then my fps goes down to 7/8 fps and sometimes even 3/4 fps for about 5 secs and will then go back up to about 20-25 fps. have any of u got any tips or tricks to stabilise fps the fps on my rf1. specs of laptop aren't very good but ill post them underneath.

Here are my system specs:
CPU- 1.6GHz AMD E-450 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics
RAM- 4.00 GB (3.60GB usable)
Graphics- AMD Radeon HD 6320 Graphics
Operating System- Windows 7 64 bit

Running DirectX 11

Thanks in advance

That should be able to run rf1 pretty well imo. to the max as well.
What is the bestest fps you get at any given time?

Running dx11, do you also have dx9 installed? I think that is what rf should running with. you can have both dx's installed.

Thanks, how can I uninstall dx9 cos I had that installed then downloaded dx11. I thought if u installed dx11 it would replace dx9. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Im also running the game on "Performance (DX7)" in the config

When I was competing in the F1GPrFactor, some of our members also used netbooks and laptops just like you. We had no choice but to edit the vehicle gen files and the track scn files to turn off objects using visgroups, adjust lods so objects disapear sooner to reduce the load to increase frames per second.
It took many hours to do the changes, as a lot of the tracks didn't have the visgroups set, so the low, medium, high and full graphics detail settings in rFactor dont function as intended.

thanks but that seems a bit too involved, I was hoping for an easier fix also the fps is good but it just dips below 6 every now and then

You can lower the grafical settings in game to get better FPS.

And sometimes such FPS dropdowns are caused by another software running in the background on your system.
E.G. Windows auto-update, auto updater from AV-software, java, adobe......

Or other software that has been started intentionally by yourself, is running at the same time as rFactor.

Look into Taskmanager at tab "services", which ones are active and which ones are really needed, most of them can be deactivated.

Thank you, I have a race this weekend so ill see if its any better cos I'm just closing all (not needed) background applications :D
