rfactor and windows 8

I am having a issue with my rfactor program and windows 8. rfactor will not lounch .
RF2 is working just fine. I also have Game Stock Car running. But my Rfactor will not start.
I have fallowed other suggestions on this site with no joy. Is anyone else having this issue? and if so what have you done to fix it?

I have found a fix. Install a cracked version. I hate to say that but it will work.

Hi there. I have also W8, for me games work perfectlu(32 & 64 W8) until i install rFDynHud plugin for kers &DRS -rft2012mod. Then i can play only offline, game cant find UserData folder, when i whant to quit the game then erros shows up. Please Help.
 
The TryMedia version of rFactor has problems in Win8. ISI released a new version that no longer uses TryMedia. You can find it right on ISI's download page labeled v1.255b.

Just a tip, read the forums or do a simple search before attacking the community for not responding fast enough. There seams to be a new Win8 thread started every few days. It shouldn't take long to find the answer on your own.

Are you running rF as admin? In Win7 you could disable UAC and then you didn't need to run rFactor as admin. This is not the case in Win8. In Win8 you can't totally disable UAC unless you make a change in the registry and once you do that you can no longer run apps from the app store. So it is a catch 22. Better to just right click on all your games and set them to always run as admin in the compatibility tab.

My guess is the plugin you are referring to assumes your UserData folder it in Program Files\rFactor\UserData and if you aren't running as admin then you will not have permissions to access that path.
