Logitech g27 and r-factor dvd in the box

wdreamsmaycome

Hello, I am a very much latecomer to r-factor (haven't played racing games on the PC for quite a while, used to race GPL to give you an idea), I have recently downloaded the demo to try it out and was about to purchase the activation when I noticed that among the DVDs of my newly bought G27 there was an r-factor/logitech DVD

I quite happily thought that this might be the full game but on start-up it still asks for activation: is this an issue with me having installed the demo first (I uninstalled before installing the DVD) or is the version in the box just the same as the one I d/loaded?

Googling the only thing I saw was that the G27 contains an r-factor version 'modified to use the LEDs on the wheel' (which it surely does), is this a 'special' version of some sort or does it just contain some mod?

Basically all I'd like to make sure of is

- I wouldn't want to buy an activation if I already have the full DVD version (obv.)
- I wouldn't want to use an 'ad-hoc' version that would prevent me from racing online if it would cause incompatibilities

sorry for the nooby question again, it's been a long time since I could race online on PC and I am quite excited to be able to get back into it.

The version that comes with your G27 is a demo, so it will require purchasing. However, there are some issues with the exe that comes with the G27 version. After purchasing, see the instructions here to resolve the activation issues with the G27 version.

thanks a lot for the info, I removed the trymedia stuff and renamed the old exe and ran the new exe, it says I have 44 min left on the evaluation (I guess it saved somewhere else I had ran rfactor for 16 min earlier today) so hopefully it should be ok when I purchase the activation.

I am wondering if I should just have left alone the install from the rfactor website instead of reinstalling from the DVD, oh well!

Seems it works with my install without the need for activation.
I use the 1GB digital download.

It has however reversed the in game FFB strength.

Instead of having to use a negative number I now have to use a positive number.

HAHAHAHA!! That explains it. I thought I was going nuts. My FFB was pulling wrong so I thought my RealFeel values got flipped by accident. I guess I need to change the few cars I fixed in RealFeel back and then reverse the FFB slider in the game. :)
