DFGT vs G27

I've been playing rfactor for a long time and even though I'm not good I love it. I'd prefer to have a great race and come last :D

I have the DFGT at the moment and it's a cracking wheel. However the wife has said I can have a G27!

So, should I snap her hands off but feel slightly bad because there is not much difference (IMO) or should I keep the DFGT. I'm never going to be amazing so part of me thinks is it a waste of money? I guess what I mean by that is that I'll never be hardcore. I do love to play racing simulation games though.

I am sure there are a lot of opinions on the subject, but the question should be answered by you. The pedals of the G27 are a lot better than the DFGT wheel by a long ways but the wheel itself is probably close to the same as far as accuracy goes. If you feel that you might do better with a more accurate set of pedals and there aren't any other options in the same price range for them, then sure, get the G27. If you feel that if it is only the pedals and that won't improve your driving much, then it might not be worth the cash. Keep in mind too that the pedals have a clutch which you don't currently have and can be removed from the plastic base and mounted as individual pedals in a rig both normally and inverted.
 
Get the g27 or Fanatec CSR, they are definitely steps up from the DFGT.

Will it make you faster? That's hard to say. Everyone's brain likes different FFB. For example, other than having much better control of oversteer situations, my ultimate lap-times and consistency suffered when I moved to a G25 from the much cheaper black "Momo Racing" wheel. However I can confidently say, based on years of reading, that 95 out of 100 people would find a lap-time improvement as well. Now, a DFGT is much closer to a G2x than a Momo Racing is, but you would still find a pretty good difference between the 2. Go for it man :).

Oh and pedals wise the G2x's pedals destroy the DFGT's, which are pretty much the same pedals as the DFP and Momo Racing.
 
Save your wheel and get a set of Clubsport pedals.
That'll make a massive difference in brake modulation and feel.
