rFactor keeps maximizing to full screen.

Hello, I want to know how to make rFactor run in a normal window rather than a full screen maximized one. I have went to the properties of the program's shortcut and applied "Normal window" and even tried "Minimized" but rFactor still opens maximized. How to fix this?
 
In the base rFactor game folder there is a program called rFconfig.exe
Double click and run this program ............ there you can select, or deselect, windowed mode.
 
I selected Windowed mode but it still opened fully maximized. Also I am running it as administrator. Any more ideas?
 
If you open the Config.ini file, which lays in the main Installation-folder, which value is set in the line:
WindowedMode=
?
For windowed Mode ot should be
WindowedMode=1

If it's 0, edit it by hand and safe the file then.

Did you drop the resolution down to something smaller than your desktop resolution? If not it'll still fill the monitor even if windowed.

What difference does that make? If you select the desktop resolution won't the window still fill the screen?

I would test but I deleted rF1 the other day!

Edit:

Reinstalled rF1, set 1920x1080 windowed and sure enough the window fills the screen. The window borders are visible where they wouldn't be in rF2, presumably that's what you mean?
