Real F1 2015 Season - Off Topic Discussion

That Force India livery is beautifull!!!
I'm curious though if it will be easy to recognise (looks a bit like a mix of previous years sauber, and mclaren). Then again, McLaren will be very likely to be different, because of Honda instead of Mercedes, Sauber.... maybe, seeing that their sponsor from then, is now on force india :p (and besides, if they are as quick as last year, then won't be on TV much anyway ;) )

I dont think that would be an issue, half of Force india is black and half silver, with an oragne stripe to divide, its not rly similar to other that much

with shots from a bit of a distance it can be hard enough, and has been in the past sometimes as well with some teams :) (but, I must admit, part of that is also because my cheap old tv :p )

And the Williams still have a "penis nose" ... but after a cold shower this time ....

Gonna miss those funky noses from 2014.
But on the other hand, I guess a bunch of the cars will have a similar nose shape to that of the F14 T. Which is nice, gorgeous car imo. :)

I can´t remember a bad livery from Force India.

The 2014 livery was just awesome.
Don't know if I like the new one though. It might grow on me.
Reminds me of a weird mix of a late 90's McLaren and a washed-out Marussia. ;)

No, don´t say that. I love Marussia liveries too with less sponsors, very clean. Only thing i don´t like in this Force india is the sponsors on the black part of the car.

For Mclaren i´m hoping something like this:

Hehe, it's not that I don't like those two cars I mentioned seperately, but that mix is weird in my view.
But like I said, maybe I'll come to like it. It is different for sure, but at the same time strangely familiar.
And just a tad too clean for my taste.

There was a great feature in Autosport recently about how F1 liveries are getting more and more watered out and generic.
Few of the teams dare "go way out there" and make a "smack-in-your-face" unique livery, because of big business putting pressure on them to make everything PC.
Think of the cool liveries in the nineties for example... Jordan with their snakes and hornets. BAR with their two different 1999 liveries that had to be combined into one split livery.
Even Honda in 2007, even though everybody hated it. But you can't argue that it drew attention, and nothing like that had been seen before.
Lotus and McLaren with their iconic tobacco liveries. Oh man...

I really really hope McLaren does something crazy to the livery this year, like the concept picture you linked to.
We need those liveries to be cool again. Like Williams did last year. :)

I would love if they went back to white/red to celebrate McLaren/Honda marriage again

They decide to not push too many effort on their paint scheme this year. Unfortunately. Hope next year
It is a very nice looking car, at least in my opinion. Yet I (and I think many others as well), because I (we?) were expecting something new, something fresh (or retro) but this is neither. It really feels like 'been there done that' to me, but probably I just had to high expectations of it in the beginning ;)

Especially after the render of a possible livery that Je suis Luis gave earlier this thread :p Would have loved that, or something alike

Maybe they are waiting to build an winner car. Next year pehaps...

Just rambling... i wish some day Mclaren come back with orange color. They did years ago but just in practice, as i remember.

Hell YEAH! What a cool livery on the C34!
Can't wait to see Nasr in action. My favorite GP2 driver.

I wont believe they will stick with that livery, same as McLaren had a provisional one in the beginning

Lol, #2 picture I thought "wow, did Marussia really make it, and present a new car??" ;)

Seriously I'm in love with the new Ferrari. Love that nose.

I appreciate that Force India tried a "different" approach to their livery this year.
Still I find the livery a bit gutless and generic. It was way cooler last year though, one of the best looking liveries imo.

Edit: lol Red Bull should seriously keep their testing livery. Zebra/optical illusion style. ;)

U suffer from violance issues? Why so bad need to punch people in their faces?

Wow, their camouflage is so good, you can't even see the front wing!!!

Lol :p

So, what do you guys think about the ban on changing helmet designs?

It is completely unneeded in my opinion. I loved some specials (raikkonen in monaco in.... 2003?), off course last year Button's tribute to his father was great (no matter if you liked the colours or not, the thought behind it was just great). And I think most of the Dutch can also remember Montreal 2000, when a Jos Verstappen had a completely orange helmet (in his orange arrows). But then again the race itself was great as well, with points (2) for Jos :D

I am a fan of drivers mainly keeping their own personal design, but (one-of) specials shouldn't be dissallowed by rules IMO..... If they want to increase driver recognisability, I would be more in favor of BIGGER numbers, especially now with the career-numbers ;) I just don't understand they put time and effort in such non-issue when they have more important things to focus on

No changing is better. Is that way things becomes iconic. I loved the idea of let pilots choose their numbers.

Anyone see any footage of Alonso accident today?

ps: he left the track on a helicopter but as far as i know he is already conscious

I didn't see the footage. Has it been released?

The track marshalls said it was quite a low speed incident, so I guess the response was only precautionary.
I think it was the G-meter that set off an alarm, like the time he got airborne over the curb in Abu Dhabi.

Didn´t found any. They say it was the wind. :p
