Very bizzare rFactor error/glitch

Recently I have had an issue where my rFactor cant boot up (it doesnt even get to the ISI logo) and crashes, however the only fix for this is replacing my .plr file. If I try and load with another mod other than whats stated in the .plr file the game doesnt get to the ISI logo and crashes to desktop. The current mod it only allows to boot up with is F1 2014 by Patrick34. This is a very annoying procedure to do each time I start up rFactor and I have become worried that it may evolve into something alot worse. If I can get any help it would be much appreciated.

Does the F1 2014 mod come with it's own custom UI? I suspect it does and I suspect that the "default" rF UI in your install is trashed. The only reason you are able to start up with F1 2014 is because it doesn't use the default UI.

These are just guesses though. Good old rF1.. there are so many reasons why it would fail to startup. Sometimes it is tricky to track them down. I remember back in the day I used robocopy to make a backup to another folder before making any changes or installing new content because so often it would mess something up. With the right robocopy command line options you can set it up to only copy changed files. So it only took a few seconds to backup before trying something new. With time (years, hahaha) I got to know the system well enough to not need a backup anymore. I could track down most problems on my own without restoring backups.
 
In almost all cases that cause problems like that, i would suggest to install rFcator over the existing installation again.
That normally should solve all mod caused problems.
And if it doesn't, post again here and add the last lines from a trace file.
 
Does anyone have a better link for the 1255g Lite version? The link on the rFactor site doesnt download for me and fails very early on.
