Rfactor wont play 1080P

Erm, should do 1080, mine is 1680.
I see there is no config ini under file at the bottom, is this a new install? did you race already? if not, fire up rf, go to the track, close rf, re-run rF Config.exe

And you can also try to set the resolution in-game.

It may not help, but what version of rFactor do you have? Your rFConfig says 1.4, my old trymedia version of rFactor has rFConfig 1.5. (maybe the version numbers don't correlate to rFactor versions... I don't know...)

*And as Denstjiro pointed out, your rFConfig isn't showing a current ini file. I tried removing my config.ini and running rF Config immediately recreated it and showed it in the config... so something doesn't seem right, perhaps regarding permissions but that's purely guessing.
 
Try another Version of the rF Config.exe.
I have uploaded a V 1.5 and V 1.8.
 
I have an Asus i7 laptop with an Nvidia 520M video card. I play rf1 via hdmi on my TV.
I cannot get it to go to 1080 widescreen, it always appears in a 4:3 format and black lines either side. Nothing I do with rfconfig makes any difference at all. 16 bit colour, low resolution, high resolution etc...etc. Nothing changes.
Anyone have a magic fix?
I am using version 1.8 of rfconfig.

Do you have this line in your config.ini?

WidescreenUI=1
