Nissan Altima V8 Supercar

larry141094

Hey guys,

Im new to the modding scene here on rFactor, but i am not new to modeling. So with the lack of 2013 mods that have current models, i took it upon myself to give it a crack.
However, i dont know how to do anything with said model once it is finished. Im going to be editing existing V8SC 2012 physics to get it closer to this years feel, however, i dont know (modeling wise) whether i need to do everything as separate objects and then whether i need to do anything else once my model is in 3ds Max.

Care to help a noob out?

Progress on the Altima thus far:

Hi Larry - two things FVRfactor have the Nissan Altima done well just needs an updated cockpit and some refinements but its getting there. It was lucky enough to feature in a Norton display in Pukekohe this year. We stopped work on the 2013 to get the 2012 stuff out of the way first and to learn rF2 stuff, this way we can learn where we went wrong as we were close to complete on our 2012 cars and stuff..

You will need to get the car into game using the plugins in the support folder, download yourself the tutorial that ISI have provided in the tutorials section and it gives you a step by step guide and how to do the whole process, you could adapt the concept to Blender although I think you will struggle with exporting it as I do not believe there are plugins for it. I think 3DSMax is the go and what the tutorials are based on. Let me know once you have finished the model and I'd be happy to help you through the process. I do mine as a complete body although I start at the front guard. Do one half of the car and then duplicate it as late as possible, almost when it's finished. All the other parts are seperate bits.

Sorry about the duplicates and the early VF.

Thanks for the reply.

Is the FVRfactor Altima finished and able to be downloaded?
Are you doing the E63 and the VF?
The shell of the car is nearly complete, i need to do the headlights and the suspension/tires. My major issue is exporting as you said. I have the GMT2 Exporter for 3DS Max, but im having trouble getting exports to work.

Yes we are in the process of all the cars for the series. No the Altima is not downloadable yet as we are keeping it for the completed mod. It is race ready and will undergo final works soon. The E63 is my main focus at the moment and the VF are not at race stage but not far off. I usually leave that to the last minute then put them all in at the same time but our Altima was rushed through for a Norton show.

With regards to the exporting, I presume you have the car in Max or Blender as you will need it in Max to use the export plugins. You need to set them up and you wont be able to export the car unless it is mapped otherwise it will fault. Also you will need to point to the Shaders, all of this is detailed in a tutorial by ISI.
