Modded car not showing in car list in game.

DigitalX

So basically: I have downloaded a car mod and replaced the gamedata, etc files with the current installation. This leaves me with the current car mod to drive and that's fine. But I cannot for the life of me ADD ANOTHER car mod without replacing the one I have.

The files from vehicle and sounds etc go into their respective folders, so that seems fine. Any idea's what I'm doing wrong? I've just download Rf1 btw so i'm quite clueless. Thanks.

As of now I've deleted the files and redownloading a fresh so I will be starting from scratch. Step by step guide of how to add cars WITHOUT losing/replacing the others will be much much appreciated.

If i understand you right, you don't have to be anxious.
(Almost) every mod/track comes with it's own Folder-Structure.

Even if you have to confirm overwriting Gamedata, Vehicles... everytime you install a new mod/track etc. folder.
One mod will only very seldom get in conflict with another.

Ok downloading a car again, I'll run through what I do: In the rar file I have gamedata, in that is shared, sounds, vehicles folders. Would I copy each of those 3 INTO the ones in the installation folder? For example: genericcar1, TOYOTA, genericcard2. ?

You simply put that game data folder into your rFactor folder. It will ask to overwrite, say yes and it should work.

Like Gupster said and additionally, it's always a good way to look what folder structure is inside a Zip/Rar... package.
Mostly they come with the whole rFactor folder structure, so that you can extract them directly into the rFactor main folder.

But tracks very often come as packed trackfolder only. These ones have to be extracted into the ..\GameData\Locations folder then.
But as long as you see a Gamedata folder when you open a Zipped file, extract it into the rFactor main folder and confirm overwriting.

Thanks for the help, but everytime I get asked to overwrite, and I do so, it replaces one modded car with another, and I have never gotten 2 modded cars at once to chose from. It gives me the modded cars menu screen look etc.

You have to select another series in the menue "CUSTOMIZE/PLAYER/Racing Series" (sometimes hard to find when UI is customized).
If you want to have all cars together available, choose "All Tracks and Vehicles" as series.
But some mods don't support "All Tracks and Vehicles", they will not show up then, these you will have to choose over their series entry.

^You diamond! I didn't think about those menu options, thank you so much.
