Frex sim wheel -anyone else using ?

Adrianstealth

Hi all

Just started using a frex sim wheel
Good results (after selecting "skip updates" to 1 )

Most cars on .50 to .75
Except new modern formula 3
Which seems to need 1.00

I'm knew to the frex so any pointers welcome

I don't have a Frex yet.... So I can't help you, but I'm hoping you can help me!

Can you give some thoughts on the wheel? Strength/maintenance(how often) any issues etc? I'm fairly keen to buy one but god it's hard to find any real info on these wheels!

Cheers,

Colin

Hi jett

Ok no probs, firstly I've tried almost every sim wheel (available in last 3yrs),
The frex & 7000 are both super high end wheels, the 7000 I think has the edge for ovals ( if your big on ovals say in iracing), the frex I would say has the edge for road.

I have chosen the frex as my main sim wheel, if your looking for new then the yen is weak at the moment the v3 frex just released -basically same as v2 with the 8mm small screw (v1 was 6mm & had a jam problem )

The detail & finer forces in the frex is what sets this wheel apart from everything else & the feeling if connection is unbelievable.

You also have to keep the overall strength turned down as they are very powerful, I also use a 2nd fan pointing at the motor so there are no heat issues

Just a few bits if advice

Dont buy a mk.1 (v.1) the older version frex sim wheel -these can jam & higher maintenance

A new v3 version is a good option

Mine was a second hand v1 but has been re-engineered professionally & now has the v3mm screw & new motor etc

Just a few spots of oil to the screw once a month is all the maintenance it needs

Totally recommended

Awesome, thanks for taking the time to respond! Are you using the g27 board in yours?

Time to hit the frex store I believe!

Hi jett

I use the mk1 frex interface

This also seems to be able to do everything I.e custom pedals / shifter buttons etc

Check with frex to see if they can supply one to you they also let you download the wire diagram -even if your not into electronics it's worth getting to know your gear,
You can then use the frex interface to run everything

Just pm me if you get stuck

Try the Arc mod for Frex steering wheels, it gives to their steering wheels a new life! and the same with Manu-factory mod where they use the G27 elettronica and puts it on the Frex steering wheels! it seems that Frex steering wheels are a great hardware pieces, but lack somehow in the elettronic parte!
