Dirtworks Dirt Modifieds please help

i'm new to rfactor and just need a little help to get started. I downloaded the dirtworks modified cars and have been testing at Eldora SPeedway. I'm trying to figure out why my car stalls out and goes back to 1st gear when i'm sliding through the turns. any help would be appreciated. thanks
 
I don't know the mod but it sounds as if you would drive with automatic shifting and auto clutch set to "off".

I would suggest to change these settings into
auto shifting= off (you have to shift manual then)
auto clutch= on (or keep the "off" setting and use the clutch-pedal manual too)

You can find these settings under "Customize/Settings/Difficulty".
