a bunch of spectators were hurt, most treated on-scene, some taken to hospital. Franchitti himself suffered a broken ankle, 2 broken vertebrae and a concussion. I don't like these half-assed tracks like Houston and Baltimore. There are no run-offs and they have to make last minute track adjustments for stupid stuff like huge bumps and railroad tracks. If they were on a real course, this would not have happened- there would have been some more room right there and not a jersey barrier with catch fencing.
Indycar is turning into blood sport for the money. Instead of going to the best venues, they go where they can find sponsorship.
