Baseline state and parameters in rFactor physics

LesiU

I did simple standing (0 km/h) test to check, if ride height reported by telemetry is in par with what I set in HDV and... no, it is not the same.

My test car have these parameters:
- weight 1520kg = 14911.2N
- weight distrib f/r: 37/63% = 5517.144 / 9394.056N
- lateral distrib l/r: 50/50% = 2758.572 / 4697.028N per tyre front/rear
- wheelbase: 2350mm = 2.35m

No fuel in the tank, so this one we don't have to include in our calculations (fuel tank itself weights none... and just checked - is not taken into calculations at all. The same with driver's head provided in susp file).

Now, checking tyre load in telemetry:
- 2760 / 2760N for front left and right
- 4695 / 4695N for rear tyres

Loads are OK. I won't be crying because of that 1.5/2N difference ;-)

Now what about ride height? I setup my undertrays to be exactly like wheelbase is and at reference plane (y=0.0) so Z is -1.175 for 00 and 01 undertray points and 1.175 for 02 and 03.
HDV ride height is specified at 98mm = 0.098m for all 4 corners.

What I have in telemetry?
- 97.46 / 97.47mm for front L/R - why about 0.5mm lower? OK, let it be
- 90.59 / 90.60mm rear L/R - why 8.4mm lower than should? Where that came from?

It has nothing to do with tyre stiffness, because I rFactor would be taking that into accound AFTER setting ride height then with my tyres, the car should be sitting 13,39/17,40mm lower than initial ride height (98/98mm).

I don't think rFactor takes the tire spring rates into account. Just check that.

As I said - it won't, otherwise ride height logged on telemetry would be much lower than what I got. There must be something else not related to tyres or suspension. Maybe a bug in rF physics code? Don't know and I hope ISI will explain :)

Can someone from ISI could explain how rF is settling baseline parameters after we enter a track? I assume rF measure ride height at front and rear axles.

Why couldn't rFactor set the baseline without any fuel? When you change the fuel setting how do the initial motec heights change?

Ride height is as as the last parameter so it already take fuel into account, but that's good imo.
